Your Whitsundays experience starts here...
Please be advised Daydream Island Resort & Spa is presently closed for a refurbishment and will re-open to guests in mid-2018.
Daydream Island Resort and Spa is one of the closest resorts to the mainland, easily accessible from Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island. The resort is a paradise for families, with attractions and activities to keep the whole family entertained!
Visitors can snorkel or dive the fringing reefs around the island, such as the stunning Lover's Cove, and enjoy activities including water sports, mini golf, movies at the open-air cinema or swimming in one of the resort pools. Unique to the island is a man-made outdoor aquarium, the Living Reef, and the award-winning Rejuvenation Spa offers a range of health and beauty treatments. The island is accessible by resort guests and day visitors.
Daydream Island Resort & Spa's Living Reef is one of the world's largest man made living coral reef lagoons and one of the jewels of the Whitsundays. Clownfish, stingrays, sharks and barramundi are just some of more than 100 species of marine fish that call the lagoons home. Over 60 species of natural corals add to the this huge ecosystem that represents the lagoon habitats of the Great Barrier Reef. As an educational example of life on the Great Barrier Reef, Daydream's Living Reef experiences capture the imagination of visitors young and old - without having to get your feet wet!
Take part in the regular events which take place around the Living Reef every day, such as the Stingray Splash, where you can walk among curious baby stingrays. Marine biologists will guide you through this amazing and unique educational experience.
The Guided Fish Feeding is also a popular educational tour for the whole family. Feed and touch Pancake & Pikelet, the huge resident stingrays of the Living Reef, visit the shark nursery and feed explosive barramundi in the lagoon.
