Lindeman Island

Club Med has recently announced that Australia’s only Club Med resort, on Lindeman Island, will be closing as of 31 January 2012. Read an article about the closure here. The island is up for sale.

Situated in the southern area of the Whitsundays, the island is easily accessible by boat from Hamilton Island and light planes are able to use the grass landing strip on the island. The island has all the facilities for couples and families to enjoy the wide range of sports and activities on offer, such as joining the circus or a scenic round of golf overlooking the nearby islands.

Take in one of the island’s many bush walks for breathtaking hilltop views, or just chill out on one of its secluded beaches. Lindeman Island boasts 670 hectares of World Heritage National Park accessible by resort guests and visitors by boat.
