Whitsunday Schoolies

Whitsunday Schoolies is held every November, for school leavers to celebrate the end of their high school life. Airlie Beach opens its doors for 5 nights of celebrations, with one of the most well-organised and managed Schoolies operations on the Queensland coast.

Schoolies Central by the lagoon forms the hub of the activity, with certain hotels accepting schoolies only bookings during that period, so very little impact on other guests can be expected. For 2012, there are some hotels and apartments still available for Schoolies. You can find details below.

Schoolies can enjoy discounts on tours and trips around the islands and beaches and expect a fun, but safe, time, that even the parents can be happy with. In fact, many parents choose to accompany their children as a chaperone, but we think they secretly really enjoy the experience! And of course the kids enjoy the benefit of having a parent on call in case of emergency, or to pick up and drop off around town for the various activities, and sometimes even to ensure the schoolies get some decent home-cooked meals during the week.

When is Whitsunday Schoolies 2012?

Schoolies events take place in Airlie Beach for 5 days from November 17 - 21, 2012.

For the parents:

The focus of the Whitsunday Schoolies Committee has always been, and will continue to be, placed on providing a Safety Response Program for Schoolies. Parents can rest assured that if their young person is heading to Schoolies in the Whitsundays, they have plenty to do and there are numerous measures in place to ensure safety. BUT at the end of the day, ultimately it is up to the young people to make positive choices to keep themselves and their friends safe during Schoolies.
