To see the best of the Whitsundays, take to the water and experience the amazing azure bays and beaches for yourself! The Whitsundays is world-famous for its clear aqua waters and iconic landscapes including Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet, and the perfectly shaped natural formation of Heart Reef. With 74 island wonders to explore, there are endless possibilities for making the most of your next escape to the Whitsundays.

At secluded coral beaches, you can splash about in warm waters which stay a tropical 26 degrees all year round. You can hire a boat and go sailing, or paddle along the coastline in a kayak or stand-up-paddle board. The Whitsundays offers some of the world’s best sailing, so charter a boat and cruise the islands, enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Or for more adrenalin-pumping action, you can join a jetski, powerboat or rafting tour and skim across the water at high speed, or take a scenic flight and soar above the islands and Reef from the air.

Swim, snorkel and scuba dive with thousands of brightly coloured fish and the diverse corals of the outer Great Barrier Reef, and witness diverse marine life including humpback whales, dolphins, turtles and dugongs. You can even see marine wildlife like turtles and stingray while snorkelling off the beach at the fringing reefs which surround most of the 74 islands of the Whitsundays. Or for a wildlife tour with a difference, go crocodile spotting on the Proserpine River.
