Regional Sales Manager

Daydream Island

Position Overview:
Implement a Sales and Marketing Plan for the Regional Market incorporating Travel Agents, Social Clubs, Local Businesses and Associations, to increase room nights and revenue from the Regional Market for Daydream Island Resort and Spa.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Regional Sales

• Maintain effective communication with Director of Sales (DOS) providing market intelligence on a regular basis and understanding of competitor strengths weaknesses and ongoing sales activities.
• Ensure a complete understanding of Daydream Island Resort and Spa’s (DDI) sales vision, its products, services, and rate structure to fulfill business objectives.
• Create, manage, implement and review an annual Sales Business and Activity plan.
• Submit weekly and monthly reports on sales activities, results achieved, competitor information, market trends and any new opportunities within the regional market.
• Look for opportunities to grow existing customer database and implement regular communications to keep them informed on Daydream specials and activities. Ensure all key contacts are effectively loaded onto the Opera system
• Identify and convert sales leads into new business opportunities.
• Adhere to Hotel’s rate structure with variations approved by DOS.
• Accurately record call plan activities, contacts, rate structure and other pertinent client information.
• Ensure sales correspondence administration is processed through support network within a 2 day working period with client / tender follow up occurring for relevant pieces of business.
• Adherence to Emergency Communication procedures ensuring that enquiries from the media are only responded to by the nominated spokesperson
• Take responsibility to ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and within given time frames.
• Attend training programs and meetings as directed to constantly improve skills and knowledge.
• Any other reasonable request within your range of competence as required by the Director of Sales or Hotel Management
• Maintain responsibility of all island-based Sales and Marketing activities and manage island based sales and marketing staff, specifically Regional Sales Executive.
• Attend island and mainland based meetings and briefings wherever necessary.
• Attend trade shows and other industry events where necessary.
• Work with all local associated operators and industry contacts and be point of contact for island activities (e.g. Cruise Whitsundays).
• Attend weekly sales teleconference meetings and ensure WIP notes are forwarded in advance of each meeting
• Work with other relevant departments in regards to promotions, prizes, VIP famils etc.

Famils
• Conduct famils as briefed by Sales, Marketing or PR to create awareness of Hotel’s product / services that will benefit sales activities and produce revenue. (i.e. Travel Agents, Wholesalers, Media, PCO’s and Corporates).
• Monitor and record all Famils on ‘Famil Spreadsheet’ and include updates in monthly report
• Advise Hotel on appropriate treatment of hotel VIPs and other visitors to maximise all sales opportunities.

The successful applicant will have experience in the tourism industry and will have a positive attitude, the ability to lead a team and a commitment to providing service excellence for our guests.

This position is a live off position which requires a short boat trip from Abel Point Marina, Airlie Beach.
