Once you arrive the Whitsundays, there are plenty of ways to get around, including car, bus, taxi, limousine and ferry. All island resorts are connected to the mainland via daily ferry services. Air transfers by helicopter, seaplane or light aircraft are also available.
Cruise Whitsundays operates ferry transfers in the entire Whitsunday region. From Hamilton Island Airport, Cruise Whitsundays can deliver you to Daydream Island, Hamilton Island, Hayman Island and Airlie Beach on the Whitsunday Coast.
Coach transfers are available to/from Whitsunday Coast Airport to connect with all island transfer ferries. Guests of Hayman Island can book a private, luxury transfer from Hamilton Island Airport to the resort.

Buses & taxis
Whitsunday Transit provides the region with a daily bus service connecting Proserpine, Cannonvale, Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour from designated bus stops every 30-60 minutes. They also provide a safe night service between Cannonvale and Jubilee Pocket 7 days a week until 10:30pm and have wheelchair accessible facilities.Whitsunday Taxis will also get you around town and are available 24 hours a day. Buses and taxis are available at Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) Airport to bring you into Airlie Beach, Proserpine or Bowen upon arrival.
Avis, Hertz and Thrifty Car Rentals have car hire outlets in Airlie Beach. Local rental companies are also available.

Getting around Airlie Beach on foot is quite easy due to the flat and very scenic boardwalk that curves around the foreshore of Airlie Beach to Abell Point Marina and through to Cannonvale Beach.
Convenient connecting services are available by helicopter and seaplane from the Whitsunday Coast Airport, Great Barrier Reef Airport, Mackay Airport and the smaller non-commercial Whitsunday Airport (located east of Airlie Beach) to all Whitsunday Islands and coastal resorts as well as to and from the mainland airports of Mackay, Townsville and Cairns. Air transfers are operated by Air Whitsundays, Hamilton Island Air, GSL Aviation and Heli Taxi.
