Bowen’s Horseshoe Bay, a regular on Australia’s best beach lists with its unique horseshoe shape and large granite outcrops. Jump off from the beach and find yourself face to fin with some of the most colourful fish you’ll ever see. The fringing coral reefs allow snorkelers to experience marine life from the beach without making a trip to coral gardens located in the ocean, a distance from land. Kids will love exploring the waters and running on the beach. Take a break between all the fun activities and find a shaded spot under a palm tree for a delicious picnic. Maybe throwing a line into the water and waiting serenely under the blue skies is more your kind of holiday, we know just the place for you. The granite outcrops at Horseshoe Beach are great for fishing. You can catch all types of fish including Spanish Mackerel and Coral Trout. Don’t forget to take a selfie with The Big Mango while slurping on some fresh mango sorbet. When in doubt, go for the famous Bowen mangoes – Kensington Prides.

A visit to Gray’s Bay is a must. The large volcanic rocks here make the perfect home for a wide variety of fish. Try snorkelling or take a tranquil long walk on the beach, the relaxed Bowen vibe will really get you in holiday mode. Queen’s Beach 5 km-long walking track is a great place to start the day.

Make sure you put a visit to Muller’s Lagoon on the list, it’s a great place to spot some beautiful birds. Bowen’s Sunday markets lining the oceanfront at Queen’s Beach are well-known for the relaxed atmosphere, live music, stalls selling local items, and Bowen’s fresh veggies and fruits.
