Hamilton Island is a great value holiday with complimentary catamarans, kayaks, windsurfers and paddle boards all available for guests staying at the Reef View Hotel, Palm Bungalows, Beach Club, qualia or Hamilton Island Holiday Homes.

There are some incredible bush walking tracks on the island. Get up early and head off with a bottle of water to catch a spectacular sunrise from one of the lookouts. Many of the tracks lead to secluded beaches and bays, perfect for a romantic picnic with your loved one.

If you’re the kind of person who likes to exercise while on holiday, Hamilton Island has a choice of healthy pursuits including tennis, yoga and a fully equipped Sports Club with group fitness classes, exercise bikes, weights and cardio workouts.

Whether it’s a coffee or a cocktail you’re craving, the sublime views from One Tree Hill will take your breath away. The renowned hilltop lookout is a top spot to soak up the views with a refreshing beverage in hand, whether it’s a lunchtime break or an early evening drink at sunset.

Enjoy a round of golf on one of the country’s most spectacular golf courses. Designed by five-time British Open champion Peter Thomson, the course on neighbouring Dent Island offers challenging golf while dishing up stunning island views. Lunch in the club house is a must.

World famous Whitehaven Beach is just a short boat trip away from Hamilton Island, or take a seaplane or helicopter for a bird’s eye view of this 7km stretch of pure white silica sand that’s so soft it squeaks.

Hamilton Island is a top spot for children with the Fun Zone play area and the Clownfish Club childcare centre for children up to 14 years old. Children aged six to 14 can tackle the Quads for Kids course in Palm Valley, while the whole family can partake in a few rounds of mini golf or why not try your hand at bowling?

While the kids are being taken care of, it’s time for mum to have some “me” time too. Re-energise your body, mind and soul with a relaxing session at Spa Wumurdaylin, where you can indulge in massages, scrubs and facials. Island Hair & Beauty, in the Resort Centre, is also great for a new holiday hairdo or spray tan.

Get up close with cuddly critters at the Wild Life café, where you can have breakfast or lunch and have a cuddle with a koala! There are also lithesome lizards and slippery snakes, kangaroos, dingoes, a cassowary, a cockatoo and a crocodile.

A wide range of sailing tours depart from Hamilton Island including Lady Enid, an elegant, classic timber yacht, and Ricochet, a sleek, 47ft catamaran. For a family-friendly day trip, Explore’s ‘Sail and Swim’ to Whitehaven Beach is a great option.

Hamilton Island has plenty of adrenalin-pumping sports on offer if you’re an adventure junkie! Try a guided Jetski tour for an exhilarating experience or take to the bush tracks on an Off Road Adventure Tour – through some of the more rugged, and beautiful, parts of the island. Or head to the go-kart track – the karts are fun, easy to drive and a great way to let off steam!

And last but not least, food! Always an important part of a holiday and Hamilton Island does not disappoint with no less than 13 restaurants dotted around the island. From the tranquil, child-free environment of the Beach Club Restaurant and the elegant interiors and spectacular location of Bommie, the island’s premier fine dining restaurant, to the fun and family-friendly Manta Ray serving up delicious pizzas and seafood and the exciting new coca chu offering mouth-watering South-East Asian cuisine – Hamilton Island has it all!
