Your very own private island!

Description

Camp Island is your very own private island located in the northern Whitsundays in Queensland’s world heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef marine park. The area is known for its plentiful coral, secluded beaches and abundant marine life and has Cape Upstart National Park as its stunning backdrop.

Camp Island Lodge is a remote luxury lodge. It is an ideal destination for groups of friends and families wishing to spend time enjoying our stunning Great Barrier Reef and National Parks. Its also perfect for small corporate retreats with plenty of opportunities to work and play.

Camp Island Lodge comprises four en-suited villas with luxe linen and furniture. Each villa is nestled just metres from the ocean and has its own en-suite bathroom, large french doors with screens, private verandahs, ample built in storage and ceiling fans.

Each villa sleeps 2 people, with a maximum of 8 people on the property, ensuring a peaceful and private escape from the busyness of life.

Each villa is connected by undercover walkways to the Lodge which encompasses the kitchen, dining, living and tv areas and spacious covered verandahs.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything necessary to prepare a gourmet meal using the region’s incredible seafood and local produce. The buildings are ‘Queenslander-style’, constructed with hardwood, silky oak door frames and polished timber floors. Camp Island Lodge has been awarded the ‘Architectural Society House of the Year’.

Camp Island has a range of activities to experience such as tennis, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkelling, fishing and swimming. Hire the Lodge’s centre console (for suitably licensed guests) to poke around the island for queenfish, mackerel, red emperor and coral trout or head over to Abbot Point with a fishing guide to try your luck at landing some of the massive GTs, queenfish, golden trevally and giant herring.

Take the short trip over to Cape Upstart National Park and experience the pristine, deserted beaches of the Cape. Take the beach cricket set and BBQ lunch for a day of fun.

The local creeks and nearby Burdekin river are heaving with barramundi, mangrove jacks, mud crabs and banana prawns - if the weather suits we can pair you up with a local expert to take you to their secret spots for an unforgettable experience.

For an unforgettable day trip let us show you a couple of secret reefs only an hour’s transfer from Camp Island. These magnificent reefs are not accessed by any other operator or resort - enjoy the experience of having the whole reef to yourself.

However you choose to spend your day make sure you make the time for a drink around our fire pit in the early evening and watch the sun set.

It’s all about the experience. We can work with you to build a holiday that is as slow or fast as you like. With as much or as little as you'd like to do, generations of visitors will build their own Camp Island experience with memories that will last a lifetime.
