Events with Cruise Whitsundays

13 The Cove Road, Port of Airlie QLD 4802, Australia

Cruise Whitsundays offers a variety of unique venues for corporate groups desiring an out-of-the-box location for their event. Below are some of their most popular options:

Heart Pontoon

Bring some 'natural inspiration' to your corporate or business event, incentive program or private event by hosting a spectacular full-day event on a pontoon in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef.

Cruise Whitsundays' 'Great Barrier Reef Events' is situated at Hardy Reef - home to world famous Heart Reef. Located beside a spectacular wall of coral and surrounded by hundreds of species of fish, the Hardy Reef Pontoon is a truly unique and impressive event space. Suitable for conferences, meetings and corporate events, and with the natural beauty of the Great Barrier Reef as the backdrop, this pontoon is the ideal space to book for exclusive use.

The journey to the Hardy Reef Pontoon is onboard a modern, high speed catamaran. This vessel can be booked exclusively for your group as you travel past some of the picturesque Whitsunday Islands and out to the reef.

The full-day charter can be tailored to suit your individual needs. Cruise Whitsundays’ event design and AV specialists are available to assist with your requirements.

Proposed itinerary

9am: Scenic cruise to the outer Great Barrier Reef
11am: Arrival at the Great Barrier Reef. You will have 5 hours on the pontoon where you can shape your itinerary. There are facilities for breakout workshop style meetings, theatre style presentations, or cocktail/networking style functions.
12:45pm: Lunch can be served to fit within your schedule, seated on the lower deck or standing on the upper deck
3:45pm: The upper deck is a lovely spot for closing speeches, presentations or ceremonies before departure.
4:00pm: Sunset cruise back through the Whitsunday Islands to return

However, the day doesn’t have to be all about business when you’re out at the Reef, with plenty of opportunity to go snorkelling, swim with the abundant marine life, or simply relax on the upper deck and take in the view.

Transfers to the Hardy Reef Pontoon depart either Airlie Beach or Hamilton Island.

Imagine enjoying a day snorkelling over spectacular coral and getting a close-up view of hundreds of species of fish. Package this with a night on-board a pontoon in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef, 39 nautical miles from shore, a gourmet barbeque and drinks, and a sleep under the stars in your own swag as you listen to the sounds of the water lapping the outer walls of the pontoon, and you have possibly the most amazing overnight experience you’ll ever be able to offer your delegates. Reefsleep is a permanently moored pontoon, located on Hardy Reef - one of the most spectacular stretches of the Great Barrier Reef.

Proposed itinerary

Day 1

Travel to Hardy Reef as part of the Great Barrier Reef Adventure onboard one of Cruise Whitsundays’ high speed vessels. By day, you can enjoy diving, snorkelling, massages and scenic helicopter flights. By 3pm the day guests depart and you get the pontoon all to yourself and your fellow Reefsleep guests.

As dusk approaches watch for turtles surfacing or coming to nibble the seaweed around the pontoon. Watch as the sun sets over the reef while you sip your sundowner and enjoy a barbeque like no other as you mingle with colleagues or clients. As darkness sets in, the reef really comes to life.

Later on, gaze up at a gazillion stars from your comfy swag set up on the top deck of the pontoon before the tranquility of being in the middle of the ocean lulls you to sleep.

Day 2

In the morning, enjoy more time with the reef before the day guests join you. Optional guided snorkelling and diving trips during this exclusive time at the pontoon with your group will see you visit very special spots where you’ll encounter a giant Maori Wrasse, spectacular coral formations, a myriad of tropical fish, and, possibly, some turtles and reef sharks. If you're not a keen swimmer then have the underwater viewing chamber to yourself and watch your fellow guests swim around, or look at the coral from the comfort of our semi-submersible vessel. You'll head home with the day guests on-board the reef vessel in the afternoon, taking home plenty of memories and stories to tell.

Whitehaven Beach

Imagine a long lunch under a series of decorated marquees, indulging in some of the finest cuisine on offer in the Whitsundays, while you overlook the crystal clear water and nearby Whitsunday islands.

Perhaps a beach barbeque is what you’re after; if that’s the case, then what better beach to stage your event on than Australia’s best beach – Whitehaven Beach, on Whitsunday Island (2017 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards).

This beach location will definitely give your event the WOW factor!

How to get there:

Delegates will enjoy a picturesque cruise on-board one of Cruise Whitsunday’s modern, air conditioned, powered catamarans.

Cruise Whitsundays’ high speed and well-appointed vessels cruise through the Whitsunday islands to Whitehaven Beach offering a first-hand experience of this spectacular icon.

The half day cruises allow you to explore the more remote, beautiful and secluded bays of the Whitsunday islands en route to Whitehaven Beach, with both indoor and outdoor seating to enjoy the views.

Alternatively charter a vessel for a full-day and enjoy a long day with many hours to enjoy this magnificent icon.

Cruise Whitsundays offers a wide variety of catering options and can tailor packages to meet your event requirements.
