Day one: Arrive at Great Barrier Reef Airport
Touch down on Hamilton Island. The resort's team meets you at the airport lounge and walks you to the vessel. From here, the only thing left to organise is which direction to look.
2Day one: Boat transfer to Hayman Island
The boat threads through the Whitsunday Islands for an hour, passing green headlands and still water. By the time you reach Hayman's marina, the mainland already feels a long way away. A member of the resort team meets you at the dock and walks you through check-in.
3Day one: Dinner at Pacific
Pacific sits on the beachfront in the Central Lanai, ocean-facing, with the last of the daylight coming in across the water. The menu is produce-driven Australian cuisine, with Queensland seafood and local ingredients. Order slowly. There is nowhere else to be.
