This itinerary pairs rainforest walking with a refreshing swim in one of The Whitsundays' most scenic freshwater spots.
Start the day in Airlie Beach and head inland towards Conway National Park. The 30 minute drive takes visitors through lush tropical scenery, winding past cane fields and into the rainforest hinterland that borders the coast. The road to Cedar Creek Falls is sealed the entire way, making it an easy and scenic drive from town.
At Mount Julian, turn off Conway Road onto Cedar Creek Falls Road. The turnoff is clearly signposted. From here, it is a short drive along a sealed road through the rainforest to reach the falls car park.
Follow Cedar Creek Falls Road to the car park at the end. From here, a short walking track leads down through the rainforest to the falls and swimming hole below. The waterfall cascades over rocks into a natural pool surrounded by lush tropical greenery, making it one of The Whitsundays' most picturesque freshwater spots. Pack a towel, water and sun protection, and allow plenty of time to swim and take in the scenery.
