Proserpine Historical Museum

The facility serves as a multi-purpose venue that houses the museum's collection and provides opportunities for genealogical research and extensive studies of local history.

The museum features a vast array of printed materials, photographs, and artifacts that reflect the area’s history, from its first inhabitants—the Juru, Gia, Bira, and Ngaro people—to the early European pioneers and post-war settlers.

This cultural centre not only offers educational benefits to locals and visitors alike, but it has also become a hub for local arts and crafts, book fairs, and traveling exhibitions.

Importantly, the museum is managed and maintained entirely by volunteers.
