Tourism Whitsundays Welcomes 2025/26 Board of Directors

MEDIA RELEASE - 30 September 2025

Tourism Whitsundays has announced its 2025/26 Board of Directors, with the new line-up confirmed at the Annual General Meeting held last week at NRMA Airlie Beach. The AGM also provided an opportunity to reflect on another strong year for the region’s tourism industry, with international visitor expenditure hitting record highs and domestic visitation continuing to deliver outstanding results.

Two new directors, Liza Muller and Katelyn Aslett, were welcomed to the Board, joining a team that represents key sectors across The Whitsundays, including island resorts, accommodation, marine and youth tourism and transport, as well as representatives from Whitsunday Regional Council and Bowen Tourism & Business.

Tourism Whitsundays also thanked outgoing directors Nicole Graham, Sue Watson and Carly Povey for their valued contribution over the past year, acknowledging the experience and insight they brought to the Board.

Returning directors Nathan Fleming and Phil Browne will continue their tenure, bringing consistency and valuable understanding as the organisation builds on recent successes.

Tourism Whitsundays Chair, Julie Telford, said the board was well placed to support Tourism Whitsundays work in delivering growth.

“The 2025/26 Tourism Whitsundays Board once again brings together passionate industry leaders and representatives who share a deep commitment to the success of our region. Their expertise and dedication will be invaluable as we continue to grow and deliver on the long-term vision for Whitsundays tourism.

“I sincerely thank our outgoing Board Members Nicole Graham, Sue Watson and Carly Povey for their time, contribution and dedication, which we greatly value. We are pleased to welcome our new directors, who bring fresh perspectives and experience that will guide us into another exciting year for tourism in the Whitsundays.”

Tourism Whitsundays CEO, Tim Booth, said the AGM was a chance to celebrate achievements while also look ahead.

“Our AGM is always a chance to thank outgoing board members for their contribution, welcome new nominees and reflect on what’s been achieved. This year we’ve seen record-breaking international visitor spend, which underlines The Whitsundays’ position as one of Queensland’s leading destinations.

“Looking ahead, our focus is on building sustainable growth, working closely with our members, industry partners and government to deliver campaigns that target the right markets at the right times, drive visitation in quieter periods and showcase the very best of our region. With strong demand and an engaged tourism community, the year ahead is shaping up to be another milestone for The Whitsundays.”
