Craig Turner - CEO

Tourism Whitsundays CEO Craig Turner has had a long and varied career in tourism, having first started working in hospitality on Hamilton Island in 1995.

He then spent eight years working for Fantasea Cruises, first as operations manager on Hamilton Island and then as Director of Sales & Marketing. He was also Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Whitsundays board at this time.

Having studied marketing at Monash University, Craig was engaged by Tourism Whitsundays as Marketing Manager in 2005. He then worked for Bowen Shire Council as Tourism Manager before spending two years running Airlie Cove Resort and Van Park.

In 2010, Craig set up charter boat catering company Chef’s Cuisine. He also continued to run the business he’d bought in 2003, the Bowen Subway Restaurant, adding to this by also building the Proserpine Subway Restaurant and buying a shopping complex in Bowen, where he set up the town’s first Red Rooster.

In May 2016 he went back into the tourism industry full-time, becoming CEO of Tourism Whitsundays, where he is focussed on not only increasing visitation but also generating increased length of stay and driving visitor spend in region.

Craig has an outcomes driven approach and aims to deliver return on investment for all stakeholders, while adhering to Best Practice, maintaining professional standards and marketing the region to the world efficiently.

Craig’s long-term goal is to see Tourism Whitsundays become one of the leading RTOs in Queensland, with a view to creating enduring commercial success for operators, while ensuring that the environment everyone treasures - including some of the best natural attractions in the world - is maintained.






Natassia Wheeler - Sales and Marketing Manager

Natassia Wheeler is a dedicated and loyal professional whose passion is in regional tourism and events. Tash has held various roles, worked in the international team at Tourism and Events Queensland and three Regional Tourism Organisations; Brisbane Marketing, Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Ltd and currently Tourism Whitsundays. Throughout this time Tash has attained her Diploma in Tourism, was a finalist for the Len Taylor Young ATEC Award for Excellence which recognises the outstanding effort and contribution to the development of Australia’s tourism export industry and in 2014 was the Queensland winner for the ARTN MyTravelResearch.com Young Tourism Professional award.

Tash’s role at Tourism Whitsundays as the Sales and Marketing Manager is to lead the team to spearhead the destination marketing for the Whitsundays. Working with key stakeholders including TW Members, Tourism and Events Queensland and Tourism Australia, Tash works with the team to develop the annual marketing plan for the region, oversees all programs including travel media, inbound and domestic wholesalers, provides leadership and direction to the marketing unit, manages the marketing unit budget, processes and procedures to ensure all deliverables are implemented according to agreed targets and standards and ensures all actions and activities have defined KPI’s that are measurable.


Emma Whitney - International Sales Manager

Emma is the International Sales Manager responsible for promoting the Whitsundays as a premier Great Barrier Reef leisure destination, through international marketing campaigns and travel trade engagement and development to increase the international visitor arrivals, expenditure and length of stay. 

Emma comes to Tourism Whitsundays with 8 years of international sales and marketing experience with exceptional knowledge of all international market insights. Having previously worked for Gold Coast Tourism, Emma has worked for Regional Tourism Organisations for over 6 years cementing her strong innate passion for destination marketing. Additionally she delivered the change of hotel management and re-brand of Soul Surfers Paradise.

Emma delivers key international marketing strategies, identifies and analysed market trends and is responsible for maintaining key stakeholder partnerships. She is passionate about sharing the message of just how special the Whitsundays is!


Kylie Rogerson - Event Manager - Whitsunday Clipper Race Carnival

Kylie is the event manager for this years Whitsunday Clipper Race Carnival. Moving from Perth to the Whitsundays, she joined the team earlier this year to organise the final stop in the Clipper Race Carnival 2017.


Kaitlyn Frawley - Digital Project Manager

Kaitlyn has become part of the Whitsundays team to kick goals in the digital space. She comes from a background of project management, consultation and design of websites specifically for destinations and the tourism industry. Her role is to maintain and keep the Whitsundays ahead of the curve in all things digital, as well as making sure all campaigns and digital marketing projects are executed skilfully.


Henrik Bossmeyer - Market Development Manager - Germany 

After finishing his vocational training in international management, a one-year work-and-holiday stay in Australia excited Henrik to join the tourism industry. He finished his studies in Tourism and Travel Management at the University of Applied Sciences Worms including a semester abroad at the Griffith University in Queensland. He is now representing his favourite place in Australia, the Whitsundays, in the German market.


Donna van't Hoff- Domestic Marketing Specialist

Donna moved to the Whitsundays in 2012 and is happy to call it home - perfect for her love of the sunshine, sea and laid back outdoor lifestyle. Donna is responsible for the marketing activity of the domestic and regional markets and looks after trade relationships to help grow the Whitsundays domestic visitor numbers. 

Donna comes to Tourism Whitsundays with many years experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, working previously on Hamilton Island, Zanzibar and London. 


Deborah Friend - PR and Communications Specialist

Deborah comes to Tourism Whitsundays with 30 years’ experience in the communications sector having worked in advertising, marketing, public relations and journalism. Deborah drives all PR, media and communications for Tourism Whitsundays and is the main contact within the organisation for all media enquiries and journalist requests.

Deborah also manages a number of in-region media famils and provides advice to senior management on all PR and media activities. As well as strong communication and media relations skills, Deborah has a very varied background and will also be writing website copy, blogs, social media posts and newsletters.

When she’s not at work, Deborah enjoys the ‘great outdoors’ including walking, swimming, snorkelling, and generally exploring the amazing region she has called her home since 2007.


Aimee Cameron - Membership Officer 

For the past five years Aimee has enjoyed living and working in the Whitsundays. Prior to Tourism Whitsundays she worked with both Daydream Island Resort & Spa and Cruise Whitsundays, in Sales and Marketing positions. Before moving to paradise, Aimee was fortunate enough to work in Melbourne, Phillip Island and Charters Towers. Aimee has over 18 years’ experience in the Hospitality and Tourism Industries, and has developed skills in in communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, time management, project management, coordination of events, and staff training.

In her spare time Aimee enjoys all activities involving food! Eating, baking, eating, entertaining, eating & cooking! Conway Beach is Aimee’s favourite place to visit for a BBQ breakfast or a run in the sun with her fur babies.  


Haylee Eaves - Membership Officer

Haylee is the Membership officer for Tourism Whitsundays. Her role is to engage with existing members and reach out to potential stakeholders in order to increase the business diversity and marketability of the Whitsundays region.

In her previous role as the Local Sales and Marketing Executive for Cruise Whitsundays, her passion was ignited for account management and client engagement. Haylee joins the team with over 10 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, and prides herself on developing positive customer relationships and representing the team in a friendly and professional manner.

Haylee is mother to two energetic boys, so spare time is a rarity, but there is nowhere in the world she would rather be. She loves to be outside enjoying all that the Whitsundays has to offer, be it on land or water.



Kylie Forgione - Sales and Marketing Coordinator

Kylie comes to Tourism Whitsundays with several years of experience in the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality industries. She has called the Whitsundays home for the last 5 years and hopes to keep calling it home for many years to come! With her extensive knowledge of the region and exceptional customer skills Kylie is responsible for providing visitors to the region with information and products that will assist in their travel plans whilst conducting relationship management activities between Tourism Whitsunday’s operators and existing customers. In addition, as Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Kylie ensures all marketing resources are maintained whilst assisting Tourism Whitsundays members and operators in updating their online listings.

Her favourite place to be is at home with her family enjoying her idyllic surroundings … and baking. Kylie loves to bake!


Natasha Miller - Marketing Assistant

Natasha has joined our team in late 2017 as our Marketing Assistant; she helps the marketing team with all aspects within the organisation and day to day tasks. Natasha has lived in the region all her life and has had 4 years’ experience working locally in retail hospitality.
