Start by the water in Cannonvale, then let the day drift back toward Airlie Beach and the marina. This is the easiest food trail to follow without a long drive: coffee, a coastal walk, lunch with Coral Sea views, an optional drink at Coral Sea Pavilion, then dinner in the centre of town.
Start on the Airlie Beach foreshore or at the Airlie Beach Lagoon before the day moves toward breakfast. The route stays close by design, with a short hop to Cannonvale and an easy return along the coast toward the marina and main street.
Make breakfast the first proper stop at Fat Frog Beach Cafe in Cannonvale. You are close enough to Airlie Beach for this to feel easy, but far enough along the waterfront to shift into local pace. Order coffee, settle in by Cannonvale Beach and give yourself time before the day moves back toward the marina.
Stretch the morning along the waterfront before lunch. The Bicentennial Walkway links Cannonvale, Shingley Beach and the marina, with Coral Sea views doing most of the work. Keep it as a walk, a short drive, or a mix of both depending on the weather and your appetite.
Time lunch for Sorrento Restaurant and Bar, overlooking Coral Sea Marina. This is the point where the day becomes less about moving and more about staying put for a while. Italian flavours, seafood options and marina views make it a strong lunch anchor without needing another long drive.
If you want one more waterfront pause before dinner, head to Coral Sea Pavilion for a drink. It sits poolside at Coral Sea Resort with Coral Sea views, which makes it a natural follow-on after lunch at Sorrento without sending the route back across town.
Finish in the centre of Airlie Beach at Eastwoods Dining and Bar. The menu leans into South East Asian flavours, built for sharing and better suited to a proper dinner than a quick bite. It keeps the final stop central after the waterfront lunch and optional Coral Sea Pavilion drink.
