Getting To The Whitsunday Islands

Hamilton Island has its own airport with direct flights from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Cairns. Whitsunday Coast Airport near Proserpine suits travellers staying in Airlie Beach or visiting multiple islands. Cruise Whitsundays runs daily ferries from Port of Airlie, with Daydream Island around 30 minutes away. Hayman Island guests transfer by luxury launch or helicopter. Long Island and Camp Island are reached by water taxi or charter boat, and most day tours include transfers.

The 74 Islands

Most of the 74 Whitsunday Islands are uninhabited national park. Only a handful have resorts, but many welcome day visitors for beach access and fringing reef snorkelling.
