No bookings, no schedule. Walk the Bicentennial Walkway to Cannonvale (flat, pram-friendly, 5 kilometres). Drive 30 minutes to Cedar Creek Falls for freshwater swimming in a natural rock pool. Or just go back to the lagoon. This is the day the kids remember because nobody told them what to do.

Day four: Bicentennial Walkway
The walkway runs along the waterfront from Airlie Beach to Cannonvale, flat and pram-friendly the whole way. It is about 5 kilometres one way, with playgrounds and rest stops along the route. Start after breakfast and take your time. There are cafes at the Cannonvale end if you need fuel for the walk back.
2Day four: Cedar Creek Falls
A 30-minute drive from Airlie Beach takes you to Cedar Creek Falls, a freshwater swimming hole in the Conway National Park hinterland. The walk from the car park is short and well-maintained. The rock pools are natural, cool, and surrounded by rainforest. Free, no booking required. Bring a towel and water shoes.
3Day four: Back to the lagoon
Head back to Airlie Beach and finish the afternoon at the lagoon. By Day Four, the kids know exactly where to go and what to do. Dinner on the foreshore one more time before the big reef day tomorrow.
