Catch the morning Cruise Whitsundays ferry from Port of Airlie to Hamilton Island. An hour and ten minutes on the water, then a full day of wildlife and beaches. Walk or hire a golf buggy to get around, visit WILD LIFE Hamilton Island for koalas and kangaroos, swim at Catseye Beach, and take the island shuttle back to the ferry for the afternoon return.

    Day two: Ferry from Port of Airlie to Hamilton Island

    The Cruise Whitsundays ferry departs from Port of Airlie in the morning. The crossing takes around an hour and ten minutes through the Whitsunday Islands. Pre-book the Hamilton Island Freestyle pass, which includes the return ferry and island shuttle bus access.

    Day two: WILD LIFE Hamilton Island

    Hire a golf buggy from the marina and drive up to WILD LIFE Hamilton Island. The kids can hold a koala, hand-feed kangaroos, and meet crocodiles and dingoes. It is compact enough to do in a couple of hours, with shaded paths and a cafe on site.

    Day two: Catseye Beach and island explore

    Walk or drive the buggy down to Catseye Beach on the island's eastern side. The water is calm, the sand is soft, and there are free kayaks and paddleboards to use. If the kids have energy to burn, mini golf and go-karts are a short buggy ride away at the resort centre.

    Day two: Ferry back to Airlie Beach

    Catch the afternoon ferry back to Port of Airlie. The return trip is another hour and ten minutes, and most kids will be asleep before you pass Daydream Island. Dinner somewhere on the Airlie Beach waterfront to finish the day.
